TIMBER FRAMINGÂ PROCESS
Envision, Design, Fabricate, Raise!
If you have ever seen a grand vaulted great room, an impeccable wedding pavilion, or a majestic old barn - you have probably seen a timber framed building. Timber framing is a traditional method of building that uses tenons, mortises, shoulders, and dowelled pegs to hold together timbers. They are bold, beautiful, and simple structures - you can see everything that holds the building up. If this is the type of structure you are looking for - timber framing is for you!

The design of a timber frame structure is exciting. We work with you to understand the vision of the building, any site constraints, and what type of structure will best suit your needs. We use 3D software to model out the frame and structure before it becomes a reality.
Unlike most structures, timber frame buildings are created entirely off the building site. After the design is locked, each piece of the frame is milled from locally sourced timber and hand cut to the design specification. All cut timbers are then pre-fitted in our shop and then dismantled. Finally, we bring it all together for a raising day at your property! It makes for a grand celebration.

ABOUT
Nevada Timber Works started timber framing in 2015, initially as a hobby and a way to satisfy the growing need for housing animals on our ranch. Immediately, we fell in love with the entire process - envisioning, design, fabrication, fitting, and finally - raising.

This company has been founded to pursue our passion of timber framing and share the beauty of this craft with like-minded individuals & families looking for that special new shelter in their lives. We are "in-it" for the entire process and guide you through the differences between a timber frame and a modern stick-built frame.
We are located in Washoe Valley in Northern Nevada between Reno and Carson City. We work with construction partners, from foundation to roofing, to fulfill the entire vision of a project. Contact us today!
